TVS Motor Company reported a 6.17pc decline in total sales in May this year at 165,151 units as it clocked 1,76,012 units during the same month of 2012. The company registered 8pc dip in total two-wheeler sales at 159,346 units in May 2013 as against 173,092 units recorded in the same month of previous year. Sales in domestic market stood at 140,046 units in May 2013 as against 151,980 units. Exports of two-wheelers declined to 19,290 units from 21,112 units. However, the company said during May 2013 sales of motorcycles grew by 3.85pc to 66,606 units from 64,134 units sold in May 2012 while sales of scooters slipped to 33,747 units from 38,833 units. In the overseas market, the company registered a 6.9pc growth in sales to 24,393 units last month from 22,817 units in the year-ago period. The company said sales of its three-wheelers grew by 98.8pc to 5,805 units from 2,920 units.
